Product Description
The Broadcom N1400GD-DLC is a direct-liquid-cooling (DLC) ready variant of Broadcom's single-port 400GbE OCP 3.0 adapter, built around the same BCM57608 ("Thor 2") Ethernet controller as the standard N1400GD but shipped without an ASIC heatsink and with a removable connector-cage heatsink, so server integrators can fit a custom cold plate directly to the NIC silicon and, where needed, to high-power active optics. Broadcom supplies mechanical drawings, 3D STP models, and a thermal model to help vendors size and validate the cold plate. Functionally, the N1400GD-DLC inherits the full standard 400G NIC feature set: a single QSFP112-DD port running from 25G up to 400G, a PCIe 5.0 x16 host interface, fourth-generation hardware-based RoCE congestion control for low, predictable latency, and the TruFlow flow-processing engine that offloads virtual-switch handling from the host CPU. It targets GPU server networking, AI/ML clusters, and other high-temperature data-center environments where air cooling can no longer keep pace with rack power density.
